Description

The purpose of the Hualālai ‘Ohana Foundation Honor Roll Award is to recognize the outstanding middle and high school students of the Hualālai ‘Ohana, in both private and public schools and to create a relationship to encourage participation in our Higher Education Scholarship program.

Eligible Recipients:  

  • Hualālai community employee has been employed part-time or full-time as a Hualālai community employee for at least ninety (90) days as of the date of application (you must have passed probation).
  • Hualālai community employee must work a minimum average 20 hours a week or more.
  • There is no income restriction for this award program.
  • Hualālai community employees*, their spouses and legal dependent children enrolled in the 6th through 12th grade. Employees who are not parents of children they are applying for, must provide documentation of legal guardianship. If the child does not reside with the employee, financial information for the custodial parent will be required.

In order to be eligible for the Honor Roll Award the student must:

  • be the employee’s child, legal stepchild or legally adopted child

  • must have completed the 6th through 12th grade at a Hawai‘i private, public, or charter school (home-schooling is not eligible)

  • must meet a final minimum GPA of 3.0 or B + for 2024-2025 school year

The Hualālai ‘Ohana Foundation Board of Directors has established the Honor Roll Award amounts as:

  •  $150.00 for students in 6th - 8th grades 

  •  $250.00 for students in 9th - 12th grades 

To apply, please complete an online application and submit your student's report card. If your student's school is not publishing grades for the 4th quarter, please submit your student's 3rd quarter report card instead. Final grades will be required prior to payment of award.

The 2024 Honor Roll Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 10:00 am in the Hualālai ballroom.

Application Deadline:  Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

Even if your 'ohana has received educational awards in the past, please apply as this program is independent of the other Foundation educational opportunities and programs.
